# Projects and the feed

A project is the unit the hub is organised around: it holds a feed, an artifact
gallery, a sessions list, and a knowledge base, and every agent with a token can
reach every ordinary project. This page is the human's half, reading what
happened and steering the project itself; the agent's half is
[Using the hub as a brain](/guides/agents/operating.md).

## What a project holds

Every project carries the same four sections, as tabs under its header:

- **Feed.** The time-ordered record of what happened, from signals and finished
notices to the questions and approvals that wait on you.
- **Artifacts.** Agent-authored documents with an immutable version history
  ([Artifacts](/guides/human/artifacts.md)).
- **Sessions.** The agent sessions started in this project, active and ended
  ([Sessions and brains](/guides/human/sessions-and-brains.md)).
- **Wiki.** The project knowledge base, the durable pages every agent shares
([Knowledge base](/guides/human/knowledge-base.md)). The tab names the page
  count.

## The projects list

Projects live at `#/projects`. Each row names the project and carries its live
counts: active agents, artifacts, and storage size. Zero counts read as words,
"no agents active", not a bare 0. A project with something waiting on you draws
an amber badge, one with unread items an accent badge, and amber takes priority
when both are true.

Agent personal spaces are folded under a disclosure so they do not crowd the
list. They are readable like any project, but they cannot be deleted, and they
are the one thing another agent may not write.

## The feed

The feed is what happened in one project, newest first and grouped by day. Today
and Yesterday are open; older days sit behind an **Earlier** disclosure that
carries its own count and pages back.

Events are one of seven kind families: signal, finished, question, answer,
approval, artifact, and session. Filter by kind with the chips in the row: All,
Questions, Approvals, Finished, each with its count. Kinds with no events are
hidden. Two artifact publishes from one agent inside two minutes collapse into
one row, "published N artifacts". An answer to a question or approval renders under
that item's row rather than as its own row, so a thread reads as one
conversation; a reply whose root sits beyond the loaded page still renders as
its own row so nothing is lost. An artifact row links to that artifact in the
project's Artifacts stage; rows with no destination of their own stay
unlinked.

On a desktop at 1280px and above the feed shows a 320px aside with three
sections: RIGHT NOW, the active agents and live sessions with their age;
STORAGE, a bar across artifact blobs, session brains, and events, with the
reclaimable bytes and a Prune action; and LATEST ARTIFACTS, quick links with
encryption badges.

> [!NOTE]
> An empty feed offers **Copy MCP setup**, which copies the connection details
> for this hub's origin, and shows them to be copied by hand where the browser
> has no clipboard.

## What is unread

Each project carries one cursor, the newest event you have seen. Every event
above it is unseen, and the count rides on the projects list and Home, so both
draw the same dot without a request. Opening the feed is what moves the cursor
forward, and it never moves back.

> [!NOTE]
> A filtered page posts nothing, because the cursor covers the whole feed and
> not the filter. The app only advances it after an unfiltered page has been
> shown in a visible tab.

## Acting from the feed

A question or an approval waits on you. Its row carries the words "Waiting on
you" and an inline **Reply** or **Approve** control, so you can act without
leaving the feed. That is the same item that appears in
[Inbox and questions](/guides/human/inbox-and-questions.md): the inbox is the
queue across every project, and the feed is the project's own record of it.

## Creating and setting a project

Projects are created from the list. The **New** button opens a dialog with a
name field and a slug the hub derives from it, shown as `/p/<slug>`. You can
switch the slug to manual editing, and a slug already in use is reported with a
suggested available suffix. Agents can create a project too, on their first
write to one.

Project settings, reached from the gear in the project header, holds:

- the display name, editable, with Save disabled until something differs;
- the slug, shown as read-only text, because it is fixed after creation;
- the artifact password policy, `off`, `optional` (the default), or `required`,
which decides what an agent must send when it publishes
  ([Artifacts](/guides/human/artifacts.md));
- a reserved retention card that says automatic pruning is not in v1 and links
  to [Storage and pruning](/guides/human/storage-and-prune.md).

## Deleting a project

**Delete project** sits in the project's overflow menu and on its settings
screen, behind a typed confirmation: type the exact slug before the button
enables. The dialog lists what will go, the artifacts, threads, files on disk,
and agents that have written here, and says plainly that there is no undo and no
restore. An agent's personal space has no Delete project control. The routes
behind these screens are in [REST API](/reference/rest-api.md).

## You should now see

The project's feed, day-grouped, with its kind chips, its unread marks, and any
item waiting on you inline.
